Stanley Cup Playoffs - Day 2 Preview

Well after an amazing opening night of the Stanley Cup - we go into day 2 with the following match ups!

Eastern Conference

Boston Bruins v Monteal Canadiens

The 33rd time these 2 will have met in the playoffs and this series could be war. Back in February there was that game which yielded 187 penalty minutes between the 2 teams and there was the Zdeno Chara hit on Max Pacioretty in March which left him with a broken vertebra and serious concussion after his head was slammed into a stanction. We also have possibly the 2 best netminders in the Eastern Conference going head to head against each other.
Bruins to take 1-0 lead, but expect some hard hitting and a lot of penalties as the rivalry flares up in game 1. Well lets hope so and both teams show the passion and desire this series deserves.

Philadelphia Flyers v Buffalo Sabres

3 wins in 10 games going down the stretch for the Flyers whilst the Sabres come into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams, 8-1-1 record in their final 10 games.
Key in this game will be the netminder for Buffalo - can Miller produce the outstanding form he had last season and lead the Sabres through or will the great scoring of Philadelphia be the main factor to the Sabres downfall??
1-0 lead for Philly after tonights game in my eyes.
Western Conference

San Jose Sharks v LA Kings

First i must make an apology from my earlier previews of this series. At the time i believed Kopitar's injury not to be as serious as it is. I have since learnt he is out for the playoffs and wont be key to LA's run.
Where does that leave the Kings?? Without one heck of a player and probably their biggest threat going forward. Justin Williams hs been giving the green light to play who will add extra threat.
San Jose starting on home ice for tonights encounter and taking a 1-0 series led for me.

I will be putting up other results and brief notes about last nights other games later in the day. Ran out of time this morning to really look at the other match up's after watching the Detroit v Phoenix game.
